Montgomery Memory Project Online

The Montgomery County Memory Project: The People, Places and Things of Montgomery, County, Virginia was funded by a generous Common Heritage grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities in 2015.  The project was made possible by a partnership between the Montgomery Museum & Lewis Miller Regional Art Center and Virginia Tech.

The first public digitization events events were held in April 2016 to provide the opportunity for citizens to access modern digital technology to preserve Montgomery County material culture for the benefit of the owners and future generations of citizens and scholars.

The Montgomery Museum would like to extend its thanks to Project Director Samantha Parrish Riggins, a graduate student in Material Culture and Public Humanities at Virginia Tech, Dr. Amanda French, Director of Digital Research Services at Virginia Tech, and Dr. Anita Puckett, Director of the Appalachian Studies Program at Virginia Tech.
