About the Montgomery Museum of Art & History

The Montgomery Museum of Art and History is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of Montgomery County, Virginia and the region and also to the promotion of art by regional artists. To this end the museum sponsors 7 art exhibits annually, two of which are student art and also hosts environmental art on the spacious grounds. The museum pursues its mission with an extensive library archive including over 10,000 photographs, rotating history exhibits, and an important collection of mid-19th century folk art by Lewis Miller who chronicled life and landscapes in Montgomery County and across Virginia as well as other states.
